At close, the Instanex FII Index was down 0.86% at 376.11 (-0.90% at 3pm) and the Instanex DII 15 portfolio was down 0.61% (-0.64% at 3 pm). Nifty was down 0.76% (-0.78% at 3 pm) and Sensex was down 0.69% (-0.65% at 3 pm). The other Instanex Owner Indexes were also down. The Instanex Promoter 15 portfolio was down 1.04% (-1.14% at 3 pm), the Instanex Top 15 portfolio was down 0.87% (-0.95% at 3 pm) and the Instanex Retail 15 portfolio was down 0.45% (-0.43% at 3 pm).Asian markets were down as well Nikkei 225 was down 1.64%, Jakarta Composite was down 0.89% and KOSPI was down 0.65%.
 
Of the 20 components of the Instanex FII Index, 14 were down, ONGC (weight 2.81%) was unchanged and five were up. The main losers were Bharti Airtel (-3.17%; weight 5.06%), Hero Honda (-2.95%; weight 2.44%) and DLF (-2.59%; weight 1.88%) and the main gainers were SBI (+1.24%; weight 3.70%) and HDFC Bank (+1.22%; weight 6.05%).
