IndusInd Bank opened its first Currency Chest on Thursday, June 28, 2012 in Mumbai- at the Bank`s Thane Branch. Romesh Sobti, MD & CEO, IndusInd Bank inaugurated the Currency Chest in the presence of the RBI General Manager and other senior officials of the bank.
Speaking on the occasion, Romesh Sobti, MD & CEO, IndusInd Bank said ``IndusInd Bank is committed to provide better services to its clients and this Currency Chest would be a pillar of support for cash transactions at branches in the Region. The Currency Chest has been setup with most modern, state-of-the-art machines available today in note counting, sorting and counterfeit detection. Also, it is strategically located to provide easy access to our clients and branches lined across both Western and Eastern Express Highways as also other areas around Mumbai. It is yet another step towards customer responsiveness.``
The Bank`s second Currency Chest is coming up at New Delhi and would be made operational by the end of this financial year.
Shares of the Bank declined Rs 2.25, or 0.65%, to settle at Rs 344.95. The total volume of shares traded was 21,988 at the BSE (Friday).
